PLAYER COMMITMENT
The Club supports a Travel soccer program. Players are expected to play games during the weekend and participate in practice sessions during the week. Typically, most teams hold two practices per week. However, at the 7th and 8th grade level, teams may practice less, due to many players participating on school-based teams. Practices may be more frequent near the end of the season as teams prepare for the end of season tournaments. Games are held primarily on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Game opponents will be made up of other travel teams throughout the State of Maine.
All Cumberland Soccer Club teams are expected to participate in the club-sponsored Labor Day weekend tournament, and most teams also participate in a Columbus Day weekend tournament.
All Club teams are expected to participate in either the State Challenge (Division 1) Cup, Anthem (Division 2) Cup playoffs or Year End Festivals at the end of the regular season.
CSC Season Timeline
Mid-late July: Parents hear from coaches and find out which team their child is on.
August 14: CSC teams are allowed to begin practicing. Not all teams will choose to hold practices in August. August practices will not necessarily be at consistent times or at the times they are held during the season . CSC teams need to share fields with high school teams and therefore may need to practice at later times. Consistent practice times begin when school starts.
